The PSATs will be administered to the sophomores and juniors mid-October of every school year. This year the test will be administered on Wednesday, 10/19/16.
What is the PSAT? The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) targeting juniors in high school, although sophomores may take it as well. Juniors who excel on this test can become eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program. All students who take it gain skills that will be valuable when taking the SAT as part of the process of applying to college. The website http://www.collegeboard.org is a valuable resource to check out for more information. Please take this opportunity to talk with your sophomores and juniors about their score and the important opportunities available. We here in the Guidance Department are happy to answer any questions you have. You can email us via the portal, or you can call us at 609-971-2020 extension 2013.
